This summer I started to learn how to crochet. I saw pictures of cute Amigurumi on blogs and websites and really wanted to make them myself. I came across this book Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet by Ana Paula Rimoli (Ana Paula's blog has free patterns!). It's such a fantastic book with easy to follow instruction and patterns. Check out these cute, little guys that I have made.

Arrowroot and Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
I bought this bag of arrowroot powder a while ago thinking I would make some homemade arrowroot cookies for my boys. I searched online for a recipe and only a few came up. One of them was on Allrecipe site and since I trust the recipe ratings on there I decided to give it a try. And how did it turned out?

After some mixing and rolling and 8-10mins in the oven later. They turned out fantastic!! Lucius loved them. I did put a little less sugar then it asked for for my toddler. He has enough energy already thank you very much.
To make the design you see here (I don't have any cookie cutters, had to be creative.) I used a pizza cutter and an icing bag tip to punch in the designs. The link to this recipe: Arrowroot Cookies
Also, for the big boy of the house, I baked him some chocolate chip cookies. This is definitely the best one I've come across. It's sooooo good!
From Allrecipe site again, here's the link to this recipe: Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Exhale

Ah, it was sure nice to wake up in my house again. Had breakfast in my kitchen, let the kids play, run and crawl around, and just sit back and marvel at all the work we did.
My place of serenity, my art & craft corner. So excited to organize and sort all the different interests I have. Scrapbooking, sewing, drawing, painting, miniatures,.....Way too many! I'm thinking of painting the shelf and covering up the walls with something bright and colorful temporarily until we drywall this half of the house next summer. Suggestions?
My floors turned out fantastic. Thanks to my husband's handy work.
Went outside and took some pictures of the red and yellow leaves before they all disappear.
Life is good. Happy Fall everyone!
Can it be?

Yes, we are finally moving back into our house this coming weekend. HURRAY! The major things like drywalling, painting, flooring, are finished. Still a lot of odds and ends need to be done, but we can do them as we are living in the house. I think I don't want to see drywall, paints, or tiling cement for a while. Staying up till 1am painting walls isn't the most enjoyable thing to do, but it's done and it looks fantastic!
I can't wait to get back into crafts and to blog again. Right now I'm still using a laptop we borrowed, typing in a corner upstairs (only place we can get internet right now), sitting on a paint bucket. Haha, I know, pretty desperate! Just thought I would share with the world how excited I am getting back into the groove of things. Here's a little sketch I did (along with other which I'll post later) when I had a little spare time not painting, or chasing and changing kids. A new character named Shroom and of course Mushy.

I just checked my blog and I realized it's been a couple of weeks since I've last posted. Renovations have basically consumed our lives here. I so can't wait for it to be done. It's been quite difficult renovating with a toddler and a baby. Surprisingly they've been pretty good with the chaos. I think in a week or two we will be completely done with the renovations we've had started for this summer...until next summer....not going to even think about that yet. No picture for this post, but hopefully next time I post I'll have my desktop computer up and running with pictures galore. Almost there!!
