When I went up to the city I got a chance to stop by the fabric store. I love it in there! Not really sure what to make first, but I`m so excited to start. Hopefully I`ll get a chance to sew something next week. Now to enjoy this fabulous Canada day long weekend with friends.

Goodbye Kitty

I am so sad that Enki passed away lastnight. We think that he was just too little and taken away from his mom too soon. He didn`t know how to drink by himself so we had to feed it with a medicine syringe. I guess it wasn`t enough for that little guy. He passed away in his sleep peacefully. Farewell my little friend.

Flying kites

Today we flew a kite where we draw and color it ourselves. Lucius wanted his favorite character, Mickey (Bucky as Lucius would say), to be drawn on it. Lucius was so amazed and loved every moment of it. The wind by the lake is just perfect for flying kites.





Tomorrow I`ll be going to Edmonton to visit my Parents and check out the Organic and fabric stores. Shopping galore!!

Sunny skies

As much as I love to craft and draw, I find it hard to stay indoors on a day like today when it's so beautiful outside. So instead I went out and took lots of pictures of nature and of some of the things we did today. Darcy finished trimming the tall grass and started clearing a path from the bank of our house down to the lake. Lucius played almost all day outside and Aymeric sat content in his stroller watching his brother run around. We had our first wiener roast on our outdoor fire pit.

These precious times

Aymeric started crawling today. My baby is a little bit more independent. I`m extremely happy that he`s developing so well, but also sad to see him grow up so fast. For all those awful days, where both of the boys seem like pushing all my buttons and I feel like pulling my hair out, I always have to remind myself to cherish these times where they are only young once.



On another note, Darcy is done teaching for this school year! More help around the house and let the summer begin!! Woohoo!!

The other day Darcy was making his Halloumi cheese. Yes, it's one of his many interesting hobby. So I decided to try taking some pictures of the process. I wish I can explain it in it's detail but I really can't. There's a lot of steps to it and it's like a big science experiment. I'm glad he enjoys making it and I get to eat it!!

The story behind Mushy

Mushy the mushroom is a character I doodled up when Darcy and I were teaching in Japan. I guess those long train rides to work were good for something in the end. Every now and then I would doodle him in my drawing pad and then eventually I incorporated him with Lily and another character named Abaddon in my Illustrations, and now it's the name of my blog site. So here's the character behind all this madness......ta da....Mushy!!

Today both of the boys had a long afternoon nap at the same time. Thank you boys!! It gave me the chance to finish painting Lily. I tried several different colors on her, but in the end I chose these.

Hurray, I finally had the time to finish my big sketch of Lily. Hopefully I'll be able to paint her tomorrow.

It seemed like the day flashed by today. The morning went by quickly. Before you knew it it was lunch, nap, then go pick Darcy up from school and head off to see some friends and their newborn baby. So not much was accomplished. Hopefully will at least try to finish a sketch by tomorrow.

Met a cute little friend last night. After Darcy and I put the boys to bed we saw this porcupine outside our picture window coming towards us. Of course I brought out the camera right away since it's the first time, beside the roadkills, I've ever seen a wild porcupine. Darcy said it was only a wee little guy. Wonder where it's parents were? I managed to snap some shots through our window, but the glare was pretty bad. Darcy told me to go outside, I was of course hesitant. Being the city girl that I am, not knowing much about animals, I thought it would shoot quills at me. Darcy leading the way, I went outside and tried to shoot some closer pictures. Unfortunately it was getting dark and my lens are only 18-55mm zoom. Hmm, got to put new lens on my wish list! The poor porcupine was so scared it quickly showed us it's quills. That had to be the most amazing thing I've seen in a while. Can't believe how deadly a cute little thing can be.

No if, ands, or butts

Just got back from picking up garbage in town. Helping beautifying and getting it ready for the big centennial coming up in July. It was fun spending time as a family and helping out the community. We sure picked our share of cigarette butts and bottle caps.

Today I manage to do some more drawings of my character Lily. I've been working on her for a while now. Hope to be able to paint the drawings and post them up soon.

Feel so great that I did so much today. This picture of Lucius' toy egg basically sums it up!!

Vanilla, baking powder, salt,...

I had a baking frenzy today. The whole house smelled wonderful! I baked with recipes I got from the Allrecipes site and had used many times. Baking is so therapeutic and oh so rewarding.

Lucius just loves these cookies. I cut the sugar in half for my little man and they still turn out just as yummy. The link to this recipe: Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

I don't know how many times I have made these already. Every time they just turn out great. Substitute half of the white flour with whole wheat. Good with a bit of jam, honey, or some luncheon meat. Recipe link: French Bread Rolls To Die For

One of those days

Today was one of those blah days where nothing was done. It was rainy and gloomy outside, although it was nice to hear the rain fall on the tin roof. Last night was another terrible, Aymeric night where he decided to wake up numerous times. Wonder if he'll ever sleep throughout the night. No much creativity today, but I did manage to snap some random pictures of things and of course my boys.

Creation

Back from a long blogging hiatus. It sure gets busy with another baby and Aymeric isn't the easiest baby either. Lucius is now 2 so he's getting a little more independent which sure helps a lot. Hopefully I can get back on to my creative side once again. I have so many things already planned to create and make. Just so little time throughout the day in between the feeding, changing, and washing.
